Introducing the first-ever Scurry in the Valley

We’re bringing everyone’s favorite fundraiser to Alamosa! Join us on Saturday, August 22, 2026, for our first-ever 5K fun run/walk in the San Luis Valley, and your leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the fun!

Scurry in the Valley will bring life-changing resources to support animals throughout Colorado, providing vital care through pet sheltering and adoptions, community veterinary services, pet preventative care clinics, and more.

Here’s how you can make a weekend of it!

• Saturday is 5K Day! Get your running shoes on and leash your pup! This 5K is a little more fun than formal – head to the pick-up location for your t-shirt and tennis ball.
• San Dunes National Park is RIGHT THERE and is dog-friendly!
• Support a local community while raising funds that support animals throughout Colorado, including rural communities with limited access to veterinary care.
• Take the scenic route and enjoy the emergence of fall. While the full foliage change doesn’t occur until mid-September, the drive down to Alamosa is a beautiful one with plenty of greenery and scenery.
• Stop to rest and recover on your travels from Alamosa at one of the hot springs spas, local breweries, and restaurants along the way.
