Over the weekend, we welcomed a large group of guinea pigs to the Leslie A. Malone Center. Our animal care team is working hard to ensure each one receives the care, enrichment, and attention they need while they are in our care. Some of the guinea pigs arrived pregnant and will be in our care until their babies are weaned, while others are ready for their next chapter – home. We’re currently running low on supplies to create clean, comfortable habitats and delicious meals for our tiny friends, such as newspaper and lettuce. Help hundreds of tiny paws – donations can be dropped off at the Leslie A. Malone Center in Denver. Small but mighty pets! If you’ve been thinking about adding a small pet to your family, now is a wonderful time! Many of these guinea pigs are already available for adoption. Did you know guinea pigs are happiest with a friend? That’s why our ongoing Small but Mighty adoption promotion is an AOGO – adopt one guinea pig and get the second guinea pig of the same sex for free! Whether you donate supplies (check out our Amazon Wishlist for easy ordering of food, such as lettuce or treats, and enrichment supplies!) or help spread the word, you’ll make a meaningful difference for these deserving animals.
