What is Tales for Tails?
Tales for Tails is an opportunity for students (1st grade – high school) to practice their reading skills in a judgement-free zone while also helping animals at our shelter get the enrichment and socialization they need. This 1 hour program includes a lesson about Dumb Friends League, information about how dogs show us they are comfortable or anxious, and 30 minutes of reading time with the dogs in our care. For everyone’s safety, participants will stay just outside of the dog’s kennels. Experienced and enthusiastic staff and volunteers will guide your child through this fun program.
What should my child bring?
Students must bring their own book. Students must wear closed toed shoes.
