On the Move with Humane Colorado

A more humane Colorado

Your contributions fund programs and services to support our community, provide a safe haven for animals, and education on responsible pet guardianship.

Our mission is to work with our compassionate community – that’s you! – to end pet homelessness and animal suffering.

Success Stories

Building bonds between pets and people

Your support helps companion animals and the Coloradans who love them thrive.

Star

Star was surrendered to us through the Humane Colorado night kennels. Overweight, matted and in need of some affection, Star immediately became a shelter favorite with her heartfelt smile and loving personality.

Your donations helped give Star the specialized care she needed, including a diet to help bring her to a healthy weight, and build her confidence and trust. Now, Star is thriving in her home, providing emotional support and comfort to a loving family who gives her the care, exercise, and affection she needs.

Baby

Baby was in need of TLC when he came to Humane Colorado as an intact senior cat with FIV and other ailments, including ringworm, URI, and providing a much-needed dental. Over the course of his 4 1/2 months in our care, your donations helped support his treatments and daily needs until he was adopted by a longtime volunteer.

Now, thanks to your support, Baby is thriving, bringing joy to everyone he meets. He loves to lounge in the sunshine, groom his companions – humans and other animals – and plenty of cuddles.

Dash

When Dash was brought to the Harmony Equine Center through law enforcement, we knew he was a special animal. Severely malnourished and requiring around the clock care, Dash’s recovery is one for the record books – going from neglected and lacking confidence to an ambassahorse for all ages!

Before he was adopted, Dash assisted Harmony staff with training colts. Now in his new home, Dash participates in clinics, trail-riding, and various learning experiences for school-age children through the Douglas County 4-H program.
