“Veterinary Technicians are the heart of patient care and client connections.” – Vicky Ograin, MBA, RVT, VTS (Nutrition), Science Communications Specialist at Hill’s It’s Vet Tech Appreciation Week! Veterinary technicians undergo extensive education to support veterinarians, people and their pets. Veterinary technicians play a vital role in animal welfare, too, utilizing their versatile skills to go above and beyond for animals in our care and our community. Veterinary technicians are often the first line of care for shelter animals and play a critical role in ensuring animals thrive until they are adopted (and sometimes even after!). They are responsible for daily medical care, surgery support, recording medical histories, and providing treatment. Veterinary technicians also assist with our community veterinary services, providing crucial support for urgent care, community clinics, and surgeries to owned pets at our Veterinary Hospital at CSU Spur. Veterinary technicians advocate for animals, often opening their homes to provide around-the-clock care to our most vulnerable, and devising innovative solutions to medical problems. We are grateful to our vet techs for their hard work and dedication to animals. National Vet Tech Week is October 12-18,2025, so make sure you tell the veterinary technicians in your life how much they’re appreciated! Share Facebook TikTok Instagram
