Pupdate: Adopted! She’s sweet. She’s cute. She’s popular to boot. She’s Lady! Like many pets we welcome into our care, housing insecurities brought Lady to our doors, and she quickly became a shelter-wide favorite among staff and volunteers. Lady is five years young and believed to be deaf, so she will need a home that is able and willing to work with her in less traditional ways. We believe this down-to-earth girl will be great in most laid-back homes but recommend a family meet-and-greet before adopting to ensure a good fit with your kiddos or resident dog. Here’s what Karissa, one of our Veterinary Services team members, had to say about Lady: Lady is the definition of easygoing. She loves nothing more than being by your side, enjoying the simple things like leisurely walks, cozy couch cuddles, and quiet time together. Gentle and incredibly sweet, she has a way of making every moment feel special. Whoever welcomes her home will be truly lucky. While caring for a deaf dog requires subtle changes, like training using ASL or hand signals instead of vocal commands, the experience of companionship and affection is the same. If you are ready to open your heart and home to a mild-mannered princess of a pup, Lady is your dream girl. Meet Lady at the Leslie A. Malone Center today. Share Facebook TikTok Instagram
