Another successful vaccine clinic, thanks to our volunteers

We started before the sun was fully up on February 22 and left as the sun finished setting on what was quite a fulfilling day, and one of our BIGGEST vaccine clinic turnouts yet.

The Montbello community welcomed us with cats and dogs in need of care, thanks to our partnership with Ascension Catholic Parish. Our team of staff and volunteers worked hard to ensure that all 209 cats and dogs received care. From patron check-ins to ensuring vet supplies stayed stocked and accessible, our volunteers’ determination helped for an efficient vaccine clinic with patrons complimenting medical staff and volunteers for their cheerful, positive attitudes.

Our volunteers are absolutely vital to the continued success of our community vaccine clinic program. Their compassion, diligence, and dedication are unmatched – I am continually in awe of their willingness to help, many of them week after week! They embody our #1 value, Compassionate Care, as if they were veteran employees (which many of them might as well be)! Whether it be a friendly smile, engaging patrons in genuine conversation about themselves/their pets, or finding the perfect toy for each and every patient, our wonderful volunteers continue to show up and make such a significant impact on the lives of all they encounter. I am truly grateful for each and every one and really can’t gush about them enough!

Everyone’s favorite volunteer role: Animal Care

This hands-on volunteer role helps the in-shelter staff provide daily care and enrichment, and other support to our shelter animal populations. This role is critical to our success because it helps maintain a high quality of care, safety, and health for all Humane Colorado adoptable pets until they find their version of home – be it a house, a barn for our working cat friends, or a glass “palace” for small pets.
