Get your new pet started on the right paw with our new community pet classes. Each session covers the basics of pet care, helping you build a better bond with your four-legged friends.

Introducing three new classes from Humane Colorado. We offer classes that cover the basics of pet care and training, led by animal care experts here at Humane Colorado!

Please note: All classes are provided in a pet-free environment.

These classes are designed for normal to moderate behavior. If your dog experiences a higher level of reactivity, please schedule an appointment with our behavior team to talk about your dog’s reactivity and talk through recommendations which may include working with a private professional trainer or enrolling in a reactivity class.

Mind Your Manners: Loose Leash Walking

11am at the Leslie A. Malone Center
1.5 hours | $25

Leash walking is all about manners. In this class, a Humane Colorado behavior specialist will teach you the basics of clicker training and how to encourage a positive leashing experience for your dog.

This is a “leave your pup at home” dog training class designed to educate you on proper training practices for loose leash walking.

You will leave with the confidence AND tools to apply your new skills, including a clicker to help you put all that you’ve learned into practice!

From Frustration to Fun: Building Better Behavior Through Enrichment

11:00am at the Leslie A. Malone Center
1.5 hours | $25

Mental and physical enrichment are critical to your pet’s wellbeing! At Humane Colorado, we use a combo of reuseable and DIY enrichment toys to help in-shelter pets stay engaged and stimulated throughout their journey.

In this class, you will learn how to make enrichment effective to promote better behavior, the categories of enrichment for cats and dogs, and how to create enrichment opportunities for your pets on any budget.

Once you are finished, head home and share your new enrichment toys with your pet for a happy and stimulating life!

Introduction to Pet Parenthood

What to expect when you’re adopting. This in-person class covers the basics of life with your new pet.

We will discuss appropriate adjustment periods for animals of all ages to help you understand your pet’s adjustment to their new life.
