Adopt Derby Derby is located at Harmony Equine Center Derby Location: Harmony Equine Center Sex: Female Current Weight: 980 lbs Looks Like: Grade Color: Sorrel Age: 12 Years Intake Date: 04/28/2025 ID: A1327864 Horse Height: 14.1 Hands About Derby $250 – Meet Derby! One of our volunteers, Gail, asked Derby some get-to-know-you questions, and here’s what she had to say… Favorite song: “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor, because she’s a curvy gal and proud of it! Color: Emerald green, because it highlights her gorgeous red coat! Hobby: Tai Chi and Yoga – Staying in shape is very important. Derby can do Tai Chi in the park, and yoga at home or the studio. She’s having a hard time finding yoga pants that fit though! Celebrity crush: Secretariat – He’s so dreamy! TV Show: Downtown Abbey, looking with admiration at the Dowager Countess of Grantham played by Dame Maggie Smith for her ageless talent, keen wit, and devotion to her family. Era she would’ve wanted to be born in: Derby is timeless! Favorite way to relax at the end of the day: Milk & graham crackers with some kiddos or a nice glass of Pinot Grigio with some adults! This adorable mare has a heart of gold and a willing attitude. Though Derby didn’t know much when she came to us, she has been an excellent learner and has caught on to everything we ask of her pretty quickly. Derby is a breeze to catch, leads well on a halter, picks up all 4 feet for the farrier, and loves grooming. Derby is being adopted out strictly as a companion due to a partially paralyzed airway that would make heavy work difficult for her without surgery, however she loves to play on her own terms and enjoy pasture time!
