Meet
Lindsey Hersey, MBA, SPHR, serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Humane Colorado. As a thought leader and business partner, Lindsey helps shape best-in-class employment and volunteer experiences for the compassionate people who serve Humane Colorado’s mission every day. As the Vice President of People, Lindsey provides leadership in all aspects of human resources and volunteer services, setting the strategic direction for talent and People Care initiatives, including selection, development, performance, recognition, and engagement programs.
Working as a people leader is Lindsey’s second career. Her first profession and passion were as a modern and jazz dancer and instructor. After retiring from that career, she discovered her second passion for human resources, where she has led successful teams in financial services, retail, and healthcare sectors in both for-profit and non-profit organizations.
Helping others achieve success is what ignites Lindsey’s love for this work. “I believe in the work done at Humane Colorado,” said Lindsey. “This organization plays a critical role in the community, and I find myself proud and humbled to work for such a great organization with such great people.”
Lindsey earned an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is also a certified Senior Humane Resources Professional.
“It is a wonderful and rewarding feeling to know I can have a positive impact on our employees and volunteers who, in turn, have a positive impact on the animals, patrons, clients, and our community,” said Lindsey.
In her spare time, Lindsey still takes dance classes and is active in the dance community. She also enjoys her small vegetable and flower gardens and spending time with her beloved Humane Colorado alum, an Australian cattle dog named Rosco.
