What is Youth Volunteer Day?
Youth Volunteer Day is a 3-hour opportunity for students aged 8-11 to experience three of our most popular programs in one!
Paint and Pets – students will flex their creative muscles and paint a portrait of one of our longest-stay dogs or cats. Please note, this is not a “learn to paint” program. Pawsitive Service Day – students will get to learn about the shelter through a tour and work on some service projects to help the animals. If available, we’ll bring a furry friend to join the fun! Tales for Tails – students will get to spend time practicing their reading in a judgement-free zone, reading to either cats or dogs (depending on animal availability).
What should my child bring?
Students need to bring a book (to read to the animals) and wear closed-toe shoes.
