Support animals in need

Your contribution, big or small, provides critical care and resources for vulnerable pets in our shelter and community.

We Are Grateful For Your Support

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the kindness of our community to support the animals in our care, build programs to assist in the bond between people and their pets, and provide innovative, accessible services. We are proud that 82 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to animal care.

Here are a few animals your donations have helped:

Animal care for pets like Harriet

“Harriet was completely different after surgery – she was able to be a kitten again.”

Your donations help animals like Harriet receive the care and healing they need to gain confidence and forge lasting connection with people.

Building courage through care

“Pedro has blossomed into a social creature – a total lovebug.”

Your support helps animals who come into our care neglected, malnourished, and fearful receive the socialization and enrichment to build trust that transforms.

Community care for pets like Kosmo

When Kosmo got into a sticky situation with a porcupine he received care from the Humane Colorado Veterinary Hospital at CSU Spur.

Your generosity subsidizes our services at CSU Spur to provide low cost, high quality veterinary care from vaccinations to emergency vet services to owned pets in our community.

Together, we will build a better future by advocating for policies that protect companion animals and equines, improving their lives – and ours.

Donor Bill of Rights

To ensure ethics in our fundraising efforts, Humane Colorado adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights, which assures transparency in practices, so you have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations you support.

Gifts of Securities

Many donors prefer gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, and mutual funds when considering large donations of $1,000 or more. Large investments help stabilize nonprofits like ours for sustainable growth. These donations typically help us avoid large credit card fees and earn you federal and state tax deductions.

Donor Recognition Levels

Less than 1% of our annual budget comes from any government-funded source. Fees for our adoption, community veterinary care, and other services are highly subsidized and often waived, accounting for approximately 20% of our budget. Remaining support for our vital work is provided by compassionate people who wish to make a difference for animals and are able to do so in partnership with Humane Colorado.
