Humane Colorado, formerly the Dumb Friends League, is a Colorado-based animal welfare organization working with our compassionate community to end pet homelessness and animal suffering.

Our History

From the Denver Dumb Friends League to Humane Colorado, we’re proud of the impact we’ve had on the communities we serve, and the good we all do together.

Our Leadership

Many inspiring individuals shaped the organization into what it is today. Our leadership team guides us in new and innovative ways to shape animal welfare into what it will be in the future.

Our Financials

We believe in being good stewards of our financial assets. Relying on the Colorado community to support our mission, we are proud that 82 cents of every dollar goes to animal care services, education, and outreach.

Our Services

Humane Colorado Also Offers

Adoption Services

We foster relationships between people and animals.

Our knowledge adoption counselors will help you on your journey to the right cat, dog, small mammal, or equine. Ask them about their favorite animal in shelter for their pet recommendations.

Veterinary Care

We offer affordable veterinary care for qualified pet owners through the Humane Colorado Veterinary Clinic at CSU Spur.

We are proud to offer preventative care for owned pets, including low-cost vaccinations and spay/neuter services to help keep pets healthy.

Education

We provide education programs for children and adults, fostering compassion and responsible pet ownership.

From the Tales for Tails reading program and Scout Badge Days to in-person or virtual lessons, we offer a range of learning opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities

We rely heavily on volunteers to support our various programs, from animal care to administrative tasks.
